Japanese Restaurants@Barcelona （日本料理屋＠バルセロナ）
I have been asked by my MBA class mates about the best Japanese restaurant at Barcelona. Everyone expects that I must know it because I am Japanese. Since I am Japanese, however, it is a really tough question. I think the taste Japanese like is not same as that American like and so do between American and French. Japanese tend to like relatively plain taste which often seems subtle for non-Japanese. Having said that, as Japanese living at Barcelona, I think I should not escape from the tough query I should be brave enough not to mind any blames like; "Hey, I was humiliated by inviting Mr. Zapatero to your recommending restaurant" or "¿Por qué no te callas?". The followings are my personal recommendations.
大学の友人に良く「美味しい日本料理屋を教えてくれ」と言われます。日本ブームもあり、正直毎週のように聞かれます。日本人の好みがそのまま通用するか微妙なため、かつバルセロナの日本料理屋は日本と比べれば値段も高く味は劣るため、「ここが一番」と言いずらいのが正直なところです。ただ少しでも参考になればと思い、ここに私見を述べさせていただきます。日本人の方よりも外国人の方が良く質問するため、英語を併記してます。

バルセロナには大量の日本料理屋があり、そのほとんどが日本人以外（多くの場合は中国人）が経営し、調理してます。シェフが日本人じゃなくたって美味しい日本料理は作れるのは確かですが、こうしたお店のほぼ全てが、マージンが高いという理由だけで、日本料理屋の名前を付けて「なんちゃって日本料理」を提供してます。一度は入店と同時に「ニーハオ」と言われ、かなりビックリしました。以下のレストランは、本格的な和食を提供してくれるお店になります。とは言え、日本にある日本料理屋の味と値段を期待しないでください。かなり美味しいとは思いますが、やはりどっか違う気がします。おそらく手に入る食材の違いが理由かと思います。
Yashima
Yshima is one of the high grade Japanese restaurants. It may cost you around €40 to 80 per person with some drinks. The interior design incorporates features of Japanese traditional art. Yashima has the widest variety of dishes compared with other Japanese restaurants. Food is good but slightly expensive. If you want to enjoy just Japanese cuisine, I recommend others. If you want to feel Japanese air, it is really worth it. It also has some private dining rooms where you should take off your shoes.
もっとも有名かつ高級な日本料理屋になります。おひとり40ユーロから80ユーロくらいになるでしょう。すき焼きから塩辛まで、幅広い和食が楽しめます。内装は完全に日本になっているため、外国人の方は喜ぶかと思います。料理だけを取ると、正直他のレストランの方がコストパフォーマンスが高いと思いますが、雰囲気まで要素に入れると一番かと思います。座敷の個室が数室あります。
Bun Sichi
It is like a Japanese style bar, "Izakaya". Not so expensive, but food is really good. The unfussy style makes me comfortable. You can enjoy "IKA NATTO" (natto with squid) and "MAGURO NATTO” (natto with raw tuna fish) that most of you will hate though they are typical Japanese dishes. Bun Sichi has another restaurant named "IHO" just next to Bun Sichi. The menu and taste is same as Bun Sichi, but it has European decorations. I prefer Bun Sichi to IHO.
居酒屋風の日本料理屋になります。さほど値段も高くなく、家庭の味を提供してくれます。無駄に飾らないところが、僕は好きです。マグロ納豆やイカ納豆など、なかなか海外では楽しめない渋い一品があります。仲良くなった外国人の人に食べさせてあげてください。僕のスリランカの友人は、口にしたあと、口とお椀につながる糸を切るために悪戦苦闘してました。姉妹店として、文七の隣にIHOというお店があります。厨房は同じなため、味・メニューは変わりませんが、内装がヨーロッパ調（白のテーブルクロスにワイングラス）になります。僕は、断然文七のほうが好きです。
Tempura-ya
Tempura-ya is literally famous for Tempura. It also serves other Japanese dishes, such as Sushi. The food is very good and slightly more expensive than Bun Sichi but not as expensive as Yashima. It is located close to the city center.
その名の通り天ぷらで有名ですが、その他の食事もおいしいです。ちょっと高めかなとは思いますがYshimaと比べれば、お手頃価格です。味、値段、雰囲気ともに手ごろなため、日本人の方には人気があるようです。
Kibuka (Kabuki?)
Kibuka is very famous for locals. It has wide variety of nigiri and maki sushi. Each dish is small and the food is beautifully arranged on a plate. Considering the volume of each dish, I would say it is expensive but taste is nice. Since being not big, it is always packed. It is located at the mid of Gracia. Therefore your can easily find other choices even if you miss Kibuka.
本当にKIBUKAなのか、それとも本当はKABUKIだけれども江戸時代よろしく右から読ませようとしているのかは不明です。スペイン人に人気のレストランです。巻きずしと握り寿司のバラエティは大変豊富で、一品一品、綺麗に盛りつけられてます。しかし、一品が小さいため、正直高いなぁというのが感想です。若者の遊び場グラシアにあるので、混んでて入れなくても他のレストランは容易に見つかるでしょう。
Koy Shunka
I have not been there, but my Japanese friend said that Koy Shunka was the best sushi bar in Barcelona. She said food was really fresh and didn`t smell fishy. It is one of the most expensive one. You are highly recommended to make a reservation in advance.

僕自身は行ったことありませんが、友人曰くバルセロナで最高の寿司を提供してくれるとのことです。
There are a lot of Japanese restaurants. So, whenever I visit them, I will update the list.
